چکیده

Background: This study compares the functional evolution between first- and second-generation patient-specific instrumentation conventional pre-surgery third month post-surgery after TKA. We analyzed outcomes achieved absolute gains of each variable. In addition, we aimed to elucidate results three surgical techniques regarding surgery length time, hospital stay, percentage drop in hemoglobin (Hg) at 24 h, hip-knee-ankle angle post-surgery. Methods: reported our experience TKA using PSI Visionaire System® CI technique 688 procedures. The patients were divided into first (N=272) (N=151) designs. control group (N=265) underwent with CI. instruments for assessing functioning were: visual analog scale, goniometry, 6-minute walk test (6MWT), domains WOMAC Index. Results: months was lower than first-generation PSI. respective differences found 6MWT pain function scores (p=0.023, p=0.049, p=0.018, respectively). mean time higher compared designs (both p<0.001), stay (p=0.002). percentual Hg (p=0.006). Conclusions: Three TKA, greater However, similar.

Accuracy of patient-specific instrumentation compared with conventional instrumentation in total knee arthroplasty.

Patient-specific instrumentation (PSI) has recently been introduced to improve the alignment following total knee arthroplasty (TKA). However, controversy remains between PSI and conventional instrumentation. The aim of this study is to compare the accuracy of PSI with conventional instruments for total knee arthroplasty (TKA). A systematic literature search was performed in databases including...

Comparison of Clinical, Functional, and Radiological Outcomes of Total Knee Arthroplasty Using Conventional and Patient-Specific Instrumentation

Background: Recently, patient-specific instrumentation (PSI) systems have been developed in order to increase theaccuracy of component positioning during total knee arthroplasty (TKA); however, the findings of previous studies arecontroversial in this regard. In the current randomized clinical study, the outcomes of computer tomography (CT)-basedPS (patient specific)-guided TK...

Patient-specific instrumentation for total shoulder arthroplasty

Shoulder arthroplasty is a demanding procedure with a known complication rate. Most complications are associated with the glenoid component, a fact that has stimulated investigation into that specific component of the implant. Avoiding glenoid component malposition is very important and is a key reason for recent developments in pre-operative planning and instrumentation to minimise risk.Patien...

Alignment and component position after patient-matched instrumentation versus conventional total knee arthroplasty.

PURPOSE To compare patient-matched instrumentation (PMI) with conventional total knee arthroplasty (TKA) in terms of limb alignment and component position. METHODS Nine men and 36 women (mean age, 69.5 years) who underwent PMI TKA were compared with 20 men and 25 women (mean age, 69.3 years) who underwent conventional TKA by the same team of surgeons with the same prosthesis and protocols in ...
